Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)
It is an on-going National Program of Fellowships in Basic Sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to attract exceptionally and highly motivated students for pursuing basic science courses and career in research.  Similarly, in order to encourage young scientists Plan (KVPY - 2012) notification has been issued. This scholarship is provided by Indian Government to all students of this country.

Academic qualification
Students can apply for it in four ways -
Stream SA : In this stream those candidate can apply who acheived minimum 80 percent marks in their 10th Board exams with science subjects.
Streams SA - Mentoring Scheme: In this Stream all qualifications are similar to SA, but only after admission in an undergraduate course in basic science can be eligible for fellowship.
Stream SX: In this stream those candidate can participate who have Science subjects in their 12th in the 2012-13 session (10 th board at atleast with 80 percent marks) the student might be interested in joining BSc in session 2013-14, BS, MSc or MS Integrated Course.
Stream SB: In this stream those students can apply  who are in first year of The Basic Science UG / Integrated Master's course and also must have 60 percent marks in their 12th

Scholarship Amount
Candidates those get selected they will get Rs
4000 - Rs 7000 per month as scholarship amount.

The selection process
Selection of  candidates for the scholarship will be based on aptitude tests and interviews. In addition academic background and research interest will also a part of selection. Application Form - can be obtained from KVPY.
